Everything You Need to Know About the iDICE Skills-to-Jobs Program

For many young Nigerians, acquiring a digital skill is only the beginning of the journey. The bigger challenge is turning that skill into a sustainable source of income.

This is the gap the Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDICE) Skills-to-Jobs Program is designed to address. The program is structured to help young people across North-Central Nigeria acquire digital skill and convert the skill into a sustainable income.

Implemented by Tech4Dev in partnership with iDICE, Tele Softas and Taltrix, the program aims to equip 50,000 young people with practical digital, employability, and specialized skills while creating a pathway towards job and other economic opportunities.

Here is everything you need to know about the program.

What is the iDICE Skills-to-Jobs Program?

The iDICE Skills-to-Jobs Program is a free skills development initiative designed to prepare young people for opportunities in today's digital economy.

But it goes beyond learning.

The program is also built around a skills-to-jobs pathway, which means participants will receive training, employability support, and exposure to opportunities that can help them move from learning to employment. The program will also involve employer engagement, job matching, placement, and post-placement support.

It will run for 11 months and will use a combination of virtual, self-paced, and in-person learning.

Who Can Benefit from the Program?

The iDICE Skills-to-Job program is designed primarily for young people across North-Central Nigeria, which includes Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau and the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja).

The program also aims to reach different groups, including women, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and young people from underserved communities, which reflects iDICE's commitment to creating more economic opportunities for all.

What Will You Learn?

The program has three learning levels, which will allow participants to build skills based on their existing experience and abilities.

Job matching is also expected to happen alongside training, as the goal is to help participants understand not just what they can learn, but how those skills can be applied in the workplace.
